ETHOS, MISSION AND WHY......
"Being outside surrounded by the best things the world has to offer - Nature"
Outdoorsman was born out of passion for being outside surrounded by the best things the world has to offer - nature. It was our love for being in the woods, rivers and hills the led us to come up with the idea for Outdoorsman.
The ethos behind it and The Green Mile Training Camp where our courses are hosted is that all adventure begins outside and with a little knowledge we can start the adventures we all dream of from time to time.

We live in extreme comfort and safety in most part throughout the UK and this can take away the ability (and desire) to push ourselves and discover what we are capable of. As devices run more and more of our lives we become less and less capable, both physically, mentally and emotionally. Our courses aim to take back some of that ground lost to the modern world. Our mission is to help people rediscover how well we are suited to nature and the Great Outdoors.
Designed by the team at The Green Mile Training Camp based in the hills surrounding Cardiff Outdoorsman was developed as a series of mini courses to engage people in learning outdoor survival and bushcrafts.

Our Head Instructor Chris developed his foundational knowledge of survival within the British Army where he served within Airborne and Commando forces for over 12 years. Chris, now part of The Green Mile Training team continues his love for survival and everything outdoors and is head instructor on our basic survival, navigation and foraging courses.
Sessions such as shelter building, finding and cleaning water, fire starting and foraging for food, these courses gives candidates the confidence to go back out into nature and enjoy it to the fullest.
