Buying & Payments

Navigation:

  • To find your way around our products, you can use the green menu on the left of your screen.
  • When you place your mouse over an item on the menu (without clicking it) another sub-menu will appear in green to the right. This can then be accessed by moving the mouse to the right and down.  There are, in some cases, further sub-menus from these to break down the sub-categories into easy-to-find lists. We sell approximately 2000 products in a huge variety of disciplines and activities so we have tried to make homing in on the item you seek as easy as possible.
  • You can home in on the product range you seek by following these menus until you find the product type/title you want to view.  When you get the menu item you want, just click on that item and the page will appear on the right.  If you want to go back up a page or locate a different page, you can do so by using the green menu on the left again, or by using the white menu that appears on the top right corner of the page of products you are viewing (these are currently being modified).

Building your shopping list:

  • When you have found an item you wish to purchase, the name and price of the item are displayed in a green bar across the top of the item. 
  • To add the item to your shopping basket, please click on the little grey  'shopping basket' icon on the right of the price. 
  • In many cases, the item will have a number of options such as size, colour or extra features which you must choose before you can add the item to you shopping basket.  
  • Once you have chosen your options and clicked on the 'add to basket' button, a window will appear asking you to confirm that you wish to add this item to your shopping basket; click yes to confirm.
  • A page will appear displaying the items and prices of the products in your shopping basket with the option of increasing the number of those items, continue shopping or continue to the checkout.  If you click on continue shopping, it will take you back to the page of products you where viewing last. 

Paying for your goods:

SECURE PAYMENTS

We have just switched from the Paypal payment system due to customer requests, though we do still accept Paypal.  We now use the ProtX secure online payment system that allows you to pay with ease and with complete security.

We now accept approximately 160 currencies, and the following range of cards:

 

Paypal

If you wish to continue using Paypal to make purchase, we are happy to do this.  The method for doing so is to select all the goods you wish to buy, go to the checkout page, enter your details and proceed up to the point that you enter the ProtX payment page, don't proceed any further than this.  You should receive an order confirmation email giving you the details of your order, along with the order codes for each item and the total charge.  We also receive this email. Now you have the order details and the amount, you can either enter your Paypal account online and make a Paypal payment to: sales@outdoorsman.co.uk, or email us at sales@outdoorsman.co.uk stating your order details and stating that you wish to pay using Paypal. We will then send you a Paypal Money Request using the order details that we have received.  When you receive this Money Request, you pay using Paypal in the normal fashion.

Paying Online:

  1. If you click 'checkout' on the 'Shopping Basket' page you will be taken to the 'Secure Order Confirmation' page where you can see your shopping basket totals.
  2. Underneath your shopping basket totals is a button called 'secure checkout', click this to proceed to the next step.
  3. Once clicked, you are taken to the 'Billing Information' page where you provide your address. Having done so, click next.
  4. The next screen is the ProtX payment system, this will open in a new window, so allowing you to go back to this one and review the instructions as you proceed through the process of paying with ProtX. The ProtX window will show your payment amount and who you are paying to.
  5. You simply enter your name, address, email and credit card details and proceed to purchase the goods.
  6. When you have completed purchasing the goods, you will receive an email that confirms your order and the amount you have paid.  The goods will be dispatched to you within 10 days of receipt of your order.
  7. If we have any problems getting your goods to you within the 10 days we will contact you to explain why and offer alternatives.

Paying over the telephone:

  1. Simply do your shopping and add the items you wish to purchase to your shopping basket.
  2. When you have all the items you wish in your shopping basket, simply print it out and give us a call on 01424 429343.
  3. We accept all major credit cards over the phone. There may be a small delay whilst we check the details on the card through the bank.
  4. We will take your order, provide any advice or assistance you need with your purchases and send the goods out to you.

Ordering and paying by post:

  1. Follow the instructions as above, except when you have printed your shopping list (or written it down) simply post it to us with your contact address and phone number along with a cheque or postal order made out to "The Outdoorsman" and we will despatch the goods to you.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

We will happily take orders from most international destinations, but may ask you to make a bank transfer - this depends on the nature of payment and the country from wich you wish to order.
